ThermoDrain Connection Options

Three possible connection modes exist for your 
- Preheating of the cold water and of the hot water (equal flow mode);
- Preheating of the cold water side only (unequal flow mode, type « A »);
- Preheating of the hot water side only (unequal flow mode, type « B »).

Equal Flow ConfigurationSend the preheated water to the inlet of the shower and to the hot water tankSAVINGS FACTOR: This is the preferred installation because is it offers the greatest energy savings RENOVATION FACTOR: This is the most complex in terms of installation and cost DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS Water heater uses less energy, it only has to heat up warm water from (26 C to 60 C), at the shower, you are using less hot water because you are now mixing warm water with hot water (26 C with 60 C) To take full advantage of the ThermoDrain heat recovery capabilities we recommend that you install your ThermoDrain in an equal flow configuration. |

Cold Water Preheat ConfigurationSend the cold water to the outlet of the showerSAVINGS FACTOR: 89% savings compared to that of an equal flow configuration RENOVATION FACTOR: Lowest cost due to simplicity and material required. This is the simplest of all 3 installations. DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS Less hot water is used because you are mixing warm water (26 C) with hot water (60 C) |
